The Fairfield Rotary Club is proud to boast that our membership is deeply dedicated to humanitarian service and international understanding. In addition, we honor and encourage youth education to keep reaching for it highest levels.
Each year the Fairfield Rotary Foundation awards up to six scholarships ranging in the amounts of $3,000 to $7,500 each, to high school seniors who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service and exemplify the Rotary motto "Service Above Self." Scholastic achievement is also considered in making these awards.
In addition, every May we honor the top 10 students (40 in total) from all four of our local high schools with citations and a special recognition luncheon, attended by about 150, including leadership from each school, town dignitaries and local legislators.
Additionally each week we invite at least 2 students from the various schools to lunch on us, at one of our meetings and so we can meet them and learn more about the things they are doing in their busy lives.
We feel education is important for this next generation, so we reinforce it every week.
