Rotary Clubs to Host Regional Meal Packing Event to Support Local Food Pantries

Bridgeport, CT – Rotary Clubs and surrounding communities are joining forces to host a large-scale meal packing event aimed at supporting local food pantries and addressing food insecurity across the region.

The Rotary Meal Packing Event will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM at The Boys & Girls Club, 595 Madison Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut

This collaborative effort is sponsored by the four Rotary Clubs of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Monroe, Trumbull, and Rotary District 7980 Disaster Task Force. 

Volunteers will assemble and package meals supplied by The Outreach Program, which supports food distribution projects throughout New England.

Organizers anticipate packing more than 86,000 meals, with a total of 400 boxes of food being distributed to local food pantries serving families in need. Each box contains 36 meal packages; Each meal package contains 6 meal servings. All packaged food will be made available to local food banks at the closing of the event.

Rotary District 7980 Governor, Stephanie Phillips states “The need for food assistance remains significant and this event allows our Rotary clubs and community volunteers to make a direct and meaningful impact.”

The event will include volunteer training from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, followed by food packing from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and clean-up and distribution from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.

Organizers are seeking more than 100 volunteers to assist with the assembly-line meal packing process
